Mountain Golf Course Wedding | Gresham Oregon Photographer

I have been so busy capturing all my clients memories!  On top of tax season, my day job (teaching video production to 170 middle school students daily), and being a mommy to 2 adorable children that my blogging has fallen a bit again.

One thing that I always strive to do is getting a sneak peek preview to my clients by the following day of their wedding.  Weddings are something that I always try to blog right away as well.  Weddings are the sole reason why I began this business and they are still the backbone of my mission statement.  I don’t get to do as many weddings as I would like to (refer back to that day job and those amazing kiddos that I spoke of earlier).  Summer is usually my busy season and when my kids are off school I love to spend more time with them.  But, I know that my life wouldn’t be complete if I didn’t get to attend a couple weddings as well.

For their wedding demo, Katie and Mark chose the song from my licensing website.  They also asked that their wedding vows be dubbed over part of the music so that they could remember them forever.  I was happy to oblige.

Katie and Mark’s wedding was the perfect way to start out busy season.  The weather was forecasted to be 100% chance of rain all day.  So, imagine our surprise when we woke up to clouds and scattered showers for the rest of the day!  When we got to the venue, the radar was showing varied fronts of intense rain going through periodically.  We arrived 2 hours before the ceremony to capture some portraits of bridesmaids and groomsmen with the happy couple.  Luckily, we were able to do most out on the putting green at the Persimmon Golf Course (venue for the day).  Right after we got inside, the rains opened up and started to pour for about 30 minutes.  Three guests had umbrellas out since the sprinkles were still falling when the processional was about to begin.  I am not even joking when I say that as soon as Mark stepped out from the building to walk the moms down the aisle, the clouds parted and we even saw a little bit of sun!!

The entire ceremony went off without a hitch (besides a minor hiccup in the sand ceremony due to the sand getting water in the containers from the rain). We walked inside to sign the marriage license and looked back outside to see that the rains had opened up again.  What perfect timing and an amazing testament to the couple’s faith in Jesus!  They knew that he would take care of them, just as He always has.  Thankfully, the clouds parted again during family photos and then Kellene (my partner from Bella Lucia Photography) took the couple in a golf cart to capture some photos while I went inside to capture some details and interviews with guests that were enjoying appetizers.Lastly, I just want to speak to how amazing the DJ was.  Brandon of Great Beginnings Dj Service was an absolute joy to work with.  As a videographer, the DJ (and being able to hook into his sound board) are a great asset.  Brandon was super helpful and made sure I had everything I needed to capture all the sound beautifully.  Then, once inside the reception venue, Brandon kept the party moving. He had great songs, hilarious sound effects during the speeches and couldn’t have been more on cue. The DJ can honestly make or break your reception and I feel that Brandon was the perfect combo of “being in charge” and yet playing music that stayed in the background enough for people to enjoy each other’s company without being overpowered by bass.  I would definitely recommend him to future couples!

As always, you can find me on Facebook for the latest and greatest that is happening in my business and life!  Please enjoy their demo video from yesterday:

I always capture a couple of photos as well (when I am taking video) in order to put them on the DVD cover and case.  Here are some from yesterday:
