When my clients asked me to help with their baby announcement, we knew that we couldn’t count on the rainy weather we had been having. Instead, we decided to show how their family truly interacts on a daily basis with a lifestyle photography session.  Mom wanted to show her kids playing and cuddling in bed reading a book. Other ideas can be…

Snow days mean I get bored easily. My kids can only handle about an hour out in the snow because they are pretty young. One of them also has a little cold right now, so he was definitely hating the weather. I love my neighbors and have two that both happen to be pregnant RIGHT…

My favorite photos of 2016. These are the top showcases of my photography for the past year. I can’t believe I forgot to do this for 2016!!!!!  Good thing we aren’t too far into the new year, so I guess I’m still on top of it.  As I look back on my favorites from this…

I love blog posts that give alternate ideas for what you can do for a photography session if you can’t count on the sun shining outside. Since the weather can be so unpredictable in the Winter, I wanted to give my clients additional options if they had something that they really wanted to capture during…

We all know that living in the Pacific Northwest means unpredictable weather.  As a photographer, I have become somewhat of a weather-person myself.  I have had some clients laugh at me when I say “The radar says we’ll have 15 minutes of sunshine in about 5 minutes” while we wait out a passing cloud.  This session…

When we ran into a major rainstorm (thanks PNW) and couldn’t reschedule, I rented a downtown urban studio that was larger than my newborn studio so that we could get their photos done while daddy was off work. Watching friends and their…

Sometimes it’s nice to see what your photographer ACTUALLY does in post editing to get your photos looking their best.  All of this is included with your one day turn around. These before and afters use lightroom for minor color balance and exposure. Then, if needed, I take photos into photoshop to remove distractions.

I have a love for premature birth and the miracles that happen in the NICU. This little #babyawesome (as mama calls him) has done an amazing job gaining weight, learning to eat on his own, and healing enough to come home. I’m so excited for their little family. Daddy is a teacher in the same building as me….

With almost 50 Fall sessions from Nov. 6th to Dec. 6th this year, while continuing to teach middle school every day, I was exhausted. I look back on this time and honestly don’t know how it got done. Not only did it get done, but I stayed within my 24 hour turn around! Now that…
